Sally Anne Fry

December 29, 1950 — February 2, 2023

Sally Anne Fry, 72, of Winter Park, Florida died February 2, 2023

Sally was born to Patricia Anne McArdle Fry and Coyle Wilson Fry in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 29, 1950.  She was raised on a small farm in Monroeville, Indiana.

Sally attended the St Louis Besancon Academy in New Haven, Indiana; Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and St Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana.

After graduation, Sally and her friend made a pact to move together wherever the first person found a job.  The friend accepted a role at Eastern Airlines in 1972, which brought Sally to central Florida, where she flourished.  She eventually convinced several family members, including her parents, to follow her to their new home in central Florida.

Sally later attended Florida State University, earning her Master’s degree in Library Science.  After a few years working at Chicago Public Library, she once again returned to central Florida where she accepted a position at the library at University of Central Florida.

In 1985, Sally accepted a new role at the Orange County Public Library in Orlando, Florida, from where she retired as Branch Administrator in 2007 after 22 years.  Sally was a member of St Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida for over 40 years, often serving as a Sunday school teacher and Eucharistic minister.

Sally’s true joy in life was her son, Jake, and watching him grow into a strong young man, husband, and father.

Sally is survived by her son Jacob Wilson Fry, daughter-in-law Elisabeth Pollock Fry, and their children Sadie Grace Fry and Zoe Fry, all of Deltona, Florida.  She is also survived by her siblings Stephen C. (Daniele) Fry of Tavier, Belgium, Thomas E. (Linda) Fry of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Margaret A. (Daniel) Dwyer of Oviedo, Florida, Andrew M. Fry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Mary A. Peel of Fern Park, Florida, John P. (Robyn) Fry of Fort Wayne, Indiana, David R. (Ray) Fry of Orlando, Florida; 11 nieces & nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews.  Sally was preceded in death by her parents.
