Gloria J. "Jean" Bearman

Gloria J. “Jean” Bearman, 89, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.

She was born on March 27, 1933, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late A. Dale Spieth and the late Cecil (Keis) Spieth. Jean was united in marriage to Lynn Bearman on December 26, 1953, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Monroeville and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2012.

Jean was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Monroeville. She was a graduate of the Lutheran School of Nursing, which transitioned to St. Francis School of Nursing. She continued her education at St. Francis and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Jean was a Registered Nurse at what is now, Parkview Hospital on Randallia Avenue until she retired.

Jean was a “master cleaner”, taking great pride in the appearance of her home. She received great enjoyment in gardening, harvesting fruit from their fruit trees. Caring for animals was a central part of her life. Throughout her life, she followed the activities of her children and grandchildren, offering her advice when needed.

Survivors include her son, Michael F. (Lori) Bearman of Grabill, Indiana; son, Gil L. (Cheri) Bearman of Hoagland, Indiana; daughter, Robin L. (Ned) Biddle of Leo, Indiana; sister, Shirley Myers of Monroeville, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In following Jean’s wishes, private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers (the family requests no flower arrangements or tributes of any kind), Jean’s family would ask that memorials be directed to the following organizations; Humane (SPCA – Ft. Wayne) or St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Monroeville and can be mailed to the Zwick & Jahn funeral home in Decatur – 520 N. 2nd. St. Decatur, Indiana.
