Willis H. Conrad

Willis H. Conrad , 86, of Decatur passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur after being stricken earlier at his residence following a day of unloading grain. His death was unexpected.

He was born on Monday, June 13, 1932 on his home place (Preble Twp) the son of the late Henry Conrad and the late Hannah (Schroeder) Conrad. He married Marlene (Bulmahn) on December 6, 1963 and she survives.

Willis was a self-employed farmer and retired from being a part - time driver for Blessing Milk Transport. He was a well - known supplier of hay and straw to regional farmers since his high school years.

He was a life - long member of Zion Lutheran Church - Friedheim and was also a member of the Preble Volunteer Fire Department, where he was one of the founding members of that department.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marlene Conrad of Decatur; son, Steven W. Conrad of Decatur; daughter, Leanne M. (W. Joe) of Indianapolis; daughter, Linda K. Conrad of Decatur; sister, Ludella Conrad of Ossian: two grandchildren, Matthew Lee and Corbin Lee.

He was preceded in death by one stillborn daughter, Carol Conrad; three sisters; Armilla Conrad, Helma Conrad, and Irene Conrad.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 14, 2018 in the Zion Lutheran Church – Friedheim 10653 N 550 W, Decatur, with Rev. Daniel Dahling officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Church - Friedheim Cemetery.

Friends will be received from: 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday December 13, 2018 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home - Decatur and from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service.
