William A. “Bill” May, 71, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on May 10, 1952, in Tennessee to the late Silven C. May and the late Juanita (Gibson) May.
Bill was honorably discharged veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving for over 14 years and achieving the rank of Sergeant.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville.
Bill retired from the Allen County Service Station where he served as a mechanic working on anything that the county brought to him, specializing on the Sheriff Department vehicles.
Bill was an avid golfer…if you didn’t find him at the American Legion…you needed to check the nearest golf course.
Survivors include his daughter, Abby Mowery of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Jimmy May of Monroeville, Indiana; sister, Linda (Larry) Pray of Hoagland, Indiana; brother, Thomas (Nina) May of Monroeville, Indiana; grandchildren, Catlin and Curtis Mowery; and great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Aria Mowery.
Military graveside services for Bill will be held at a later date this spring.
