William "Bill" M. Killen

December 30, 1969 — February 4, 2019

William “Bill” M. Killen , 49, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center following surgical complications.

He was born on December 30, 1969 in Decatur, Indiana, the son of Bobby R. Killen, Sr. and Betsy (Smith) Killen.

He was a member of Pathway Community Church in Fort Wayne where he was an active volunteer at Kid City and also assisted with security. He was also a faithful participant in the Manday Monday Men’s Group that met thru church. He was a longtime softball coach in Huntertown, Decatur, and Columbia City, where he instilled his sense of humor on countless young ladies.

Bill was employed by The Charles event center in Ft. Wayne. But, his true passion in life was being a DJ. He would “Rock the faces off” of many different venues in the Ft. Wayne area. Last October, he “Rocked” the Bellmont High School Class of 1988’s 30th Anniversary party in Decatur.

Bill was very involved and loved his children…and grandchildren. He was a positive influence on the lives of many children as he coached and volunteered. He loved reading Stephen King novels and will be forever remembered as Superman.

Survivors include his children, twin daughter, Meaghan (Corey) Caliste of Columbia City; twin son, Michael Killen of Greenwood; daughters, Kathryn Killen of Fort Wayne and Riley Summers of Fort Wayne; mother, Betsy Killen of Fort Wayne; sisters, Beth (Wayne) Wolf of Monroe, Patricia (Barry) Peterson of Fort Wayne, Elana (Gary) Serres of Columbia City, and Patsy (Walter) Hobbs of Fort Wayne; brothers, Bobby (Diana) Killen Jr. of Galveston, Texas and Tony (Monika) Killen of Schweinfurt, Germany; and six grandchildren, Michelle Killen, Anthony Killen, William Killen, Corey Caliste III, Elijah Caliste, and Autumn Caliste.

Bill was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Following the services, there will be a carry-in luncheon that will be held at the Double Eagle Pavilion in Decatur.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to services Saturday also at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials can be made to the family (checks payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home).
