William A. Baumann, 83, of Decatur, Indiana passed away, Friday, September 18, 2020, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.
He was born on June 30, 1937 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Ernest Baumann and Maxine (Bailer) Baumann.
Bill was united in marriage to Jo Ann Jones and she survives.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Decatur.
Bill was a law enforcement officer with the City of Decatur and the Adams County Sheriff Department. He was also a self-employed Agribusiness Owner.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Baumann of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Debra (Steve) Shumaker of Monroeville, Indiana; granddaughter, Ashlee (Carlo) Balmaseda of Crown Point, Indiana; great-granddaughter, Nora Balmaseda; three brothers, Jerry (Judy) Baumann of Alachua, Florida, Sam (Judy) Baumann and Steve (Donna) Baumann both of Decatur, Indiana; and a sister, Patricia Lytle of Southport, Indiana.
William was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Baumann; brother-in-law, Steven Lytle; and Jo Ann’s brother, Jerry Jones.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private service will be held at a later date with Pastor David Koeneman officiating and burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Preferred memorials can be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Decatur.
