Wayne Lee Foust

Wayne Lee Foust, 84, of Berne, Indiana passed away Saturday afternoon, June 10, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur, Indiana.

He was born on June 30, 1938, in Wells County, Indiana to the late Henry Foust and the late Clara B. (Mayer) Foust. He was united in marriage to Diana R. Pharr on November 1, 1963, at First Missionary Church in Berne and she preceded him in death on June 20, 2010.

Wayne was a long-time member of First Missionary Church in Berne, Indiana. His love for the Lord extended beyond the walls of the church and he had a deep desire for others to come to Jesus.

He was employed by Franklin Electric for over 40 years before retiring.

Wayne was an avid sports fan; especially, for the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He was also recognized by South Adams for being a loyal fan and supporter of the basketball program for many years. Wayne and Diana loved their grandchildren dearly and supported them by attending nearly all of their activities.

He is survived by his son, Dean (Jana) Foust of Goshen, Indiana; son, Darrin Foust of Berne, Indiana; son, Don Foust of Berne, Indiana; son, Pastor Dathen (Dawn) Foust of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Nancy (Jay) Betts of Petroleum, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Joshua Foust, Cody Foust, Tanner (Heather) Foust, Walker (Katelyn) Foust, Claira Foust, Luke Foust, and William Foust; and four great-grandchildren, Ariel Foust, Jasper Foust, Owen Foust, and Miles Foust.

Wayne was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Michael Foust; and two sisters, Nellie Biberstein and Dorothy Schwartz.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023, at Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur, Indiana (909 E Monroe St. Decatur, Indiana) with Pastor Rick Schwartz and Pastor Ken Hogg officiating. Burial will follow at M.R.E. Cemetery of rural Berne, Indiana.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at First Missionary Church in Berne, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service at Cornerstone Community Church .

Preferred memorials can be given to First Missionary Church – Missions or Special Olympics.
