Waneta G. Habegger, 86, Berne, passed away on June 20, 2018 at Bluffton Regional Hospital. She was born on August 4, 1931 in Adams County, IN to Noah and Mollie Lehman Neuenschwander. She married Charles Habegger on September 3, 1950 who survives.
Waneta graduated from Monroe High School in 1949. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, she worked in the family businesses, Habegger Builders Supply and Swiss Haus of Camping. She and Charlie enjoyed traveling and camping. Her love of music impacted everything she did and she was active in choral ensembles and playing the organ and piano at First Mennonite Church. Waneta was involved in the Gideon Auxiliary Ministry, having served on the Indiana Gideon State Cabinet.
Survivors include: her husband, daughter, Audrey(Jerry)Sumrall of Garland, TX, sons; Alan(Cindy) Habegger of Berne, Neil(Meg)Habegger of Portland, Brian(Denise)Habegger of Berne, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are her parents, brothers, Orval, Loris, Vernon and sister Marie Lehman.
Funeral services are Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10:30 am at the First Mennonite Church, Berne with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Sunday, June 24 from 2 to 8 pm. at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating are Pastors, Jerry Flueckiger, Jeff Linhicum and James Schwartz. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery.
