Vivian Kathleen “Kathy” (Patrick) Hackman, 77, of Decatur, Indiana passed away early Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at her residence.
Kathy was born on August 3, 1941 in Adams County, Indiana to Waymon & Leona R. (Selking) Patrick. She married Alvin Hackman on August 3, 1989 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2010.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #43.
Kathy was a homemaker and loved her work at All American Homes in Decatur. Her little dog, Chloe, was very important to Kathy and remained by her side always. Kathy loved scrap-booking, rubber stamping and refinishing furniture. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, & spending time at the beach.
She is survived by three daughters, Peggy (Jim) Huntley, Joyce (Bob Barth) Hawkins, & Penny Williams, all of Decatur; two sons, Mart (Juli) Gerke & Patrick Gerke, both of Decatur; two step-sons, Bradley Hackman of Oahu, HI & Scott (Kristin) Hackman of Westfield, IN; sister, Beverly (Ronald) Morton of Zephyrhills, FL; special friend, Don Christianer of Decatur; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and soon to be two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Tasha Comment.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor James Voorman officiating.
Family & friends will be received from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
Preferred memorials are to Allen County SPCA or Riley Children’s Hospital.
