Virginia "Ginny" A. Bauman

November 28, 1933 — January 4, 2024

Virginia A. “Ginny” Bauman, 90, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Adams Woodcrest where she had been a resident for the past several months…taking great pride in living independently prior to that.

She was born on November 28, 1933, in Allen County Indiana to the late Bernard Thomas Beauchot and the late Bessie Wilma (Need) Beauchot. Ginny was united in marriage to Paul D. Bauman on April 18, 1953, and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1982.  Following his death, she lived for many years as a widow.  However, after many years as a widow, she met Bill E. Beard.  They were quite the couple and were engaged in 2005 and he preceded her in death in 2012.

Ginny was a member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church where she was the chairperson of the finance committee, member of the Care Committee, and former assistant Treasurer.  She was a 1952 graduate of Monroeville High School.

Ginny worked at Fort Wayne National Bank - Monroeville for over 40 years where she was a teller and Assistant Branch Manager.   In addition to her banking career, she was a small business owner.  Along with her husband Paul, they were co-owners of Wayne Black Oxide Inc. in Fort Wayne where she was the bookkeeper for the company.

Many words can be used to describe Ginny.  But above all else, she was very proud of the relationships she established with her family and the support she was able to provide and receive from them.  She had many hobbies that included IU Basketball and anything sport related, traveling, and caring for her cats and birds.  Ginny and Paul also enjoyed square dancing which combined their love for traveling as they became regulars in attending dancing events in Branson, Missouri.

Survivors include her, brother, Thomas L. (Sandra) Beauchot of Fort Wayne, Indiana; nephew, Tim (Lora) Bauman of Decatur, Indiana; nephew, Tim (Deanna) Beauchot of Albion, Indiana; Kellie (Phil) Smith of Decatur, Indiana; nephew, Stuart (Peggy) Bauman of Dublin, Ohio; 25 great nephews and nieces; Bill’s family: Rita (Daniel) Scott, Bill (Sandy) Beard, Jackie (Raymond) Diedrich; Bill also would have had 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren surviving.

Ginny was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Bauman who died in infancy; sister, Betty Johnson; brother Bernard Beauchot who died in infancy; two nieces, Joy Blocker and Michele Beauchot; and Bill’s daughter, Diane Harris.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Monroeville United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroeville Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 12 Noon to 3:00 p.m. at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, in Monroeville and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
