Travis L. Snyder

November 17, 1974 — July 21, 2024

Travis Lyle Snyder, born on November 17, 1974, he was the son of the late Frederick Leonidas Snyder and Linda Lea (Fox) Collins. He passed away on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at the age of 49, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a deep love for life's simple joys.

Travis was a skilled ironworker whose career spanned the construction of enormous structures across the nation, from pasta factories to nuclear power plants. He started his career working for and learning from Bill Pruden in the construction of grain bins. His craftsmanship and commitment to his work was evident in every project he touched, earning him respect and admiration from coworkers and clients alike. For 25 years, not a week passed when he didn’t receive a call asking him to pack his tools and come to a work site somewhere across the country to help with a project.

Outside of work, Travis found solace and joy in the quiet moments spent fishing with his friends and family, especially with his friends Steve and Bronson Boroff. His true passion was motorcycles – having gone to school for motorcycle repair, he loved to ride them, work on them and help friends with them. More recently, his best friend since childhood Mike Smith, had him working on his video gaming skills.

Travis was a loving husband to his cherished wife, Shawn Snyder of Ohio City, Ohio; and a devoted father to his son, Raymond D. (Grace) Snyder of Lima, Ohio. He embraced his role as a step-father to son, Tyler Hoersten of Ohio City, Ohio; daughter, Madison (William McMonigal) Pennington of Ohio City, Ohio; and Matt Kasper of Defiance, Ohio treating them as his own. He is survived by his three grandchildren, Aubrey Hoersten, Will McMonigal, and Delilah McMonigal, who brought him immeasurable happiness and was the light of his life. Travis is survived by his three siblings including, a brother, Jeremy (Tamara) Snyder of Lexington, South Carolina; sister, Angela Snyder of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Nicole L. (Larry Lichtensteiger) Snyder of Ohio City, Ohio; four nephews and nieces, Brittany (Jared) Fisher, Blake (Kayla) Snyder, Blaze Snyder, and Breeze (Micheal) Snyder-Huggins.

Travis will be fondly remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering loyalty to those he held dear. His zest for life inspired all who knew him.
