Tom A. Ruble, 90, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur, Indiana.
He was born on September 4, 1933 in Allen County to the late Romey Ruble and the late Treva (Barkley) Ruble.
Tom was united in marriage to Carolyn Hakes on December 3, 1955 at Union Chapel Church. They would have been married 68 years this December.
Tom was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Monroeville. He was the owner of T & R Construction Company, and the owner of Tom Ruble and Sons Truck Sales. He was also a lifelong farmer.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved traveling West to Montana, and for over 20 years, he and Carolyn went South to Florida for the Winter. He was a very kind man, and would have given the shirt off his back for anyone. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Ruble of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Kim (Jacqueline) Ruble of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Jeffery (Rebecca) Ruble of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Andrea Shane of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Pam (Jeff Neumeyer) Ruble – Neumeyer of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Debra (Eugene) Butcher of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Sam (Annette) Ruble of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Judy (Larry) Hullinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Leah (Joe) Klinker of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ruble of Decatur, Indiana; grandchildren, Gail (Ben) Crawford, Anthony Ruble, Benjamin (Lisa) Ruble, Jessica (Elliot) Nichols, Zachary Ruble, Nicolas (Nikki) Ruble, Jenna (Josh) Kosnick, Alexander (Bobbi) Shane, Janine (Brett) Conrad, Brandon (Laura) Butcher, and Beau (Lindsay) Butcher; and thirty great grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Pancake) Ruble in 1954; son, Tom F. Ruble on February 7, 2018; two brothers, Roxy (Mary) Ruble and Ted Ruble; sister, Ann (Don) Bieberich; and son-in-law, Frederick Shane.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with Pastor Harold Klinker officiating. Burial will follow in Monroeville Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home , Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville EMS, or Monroeville Fire Department.
