Thomas L. Grote

Thomas L. Grote, 74, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on June 22, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on December 11, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Walter Grote and the late Viola K. (Meyer) Grote. He married Marilyn Sue Myers on August 5, 1967 in Fort Wayne, Indiana & she preceded him in death on July 5, 2016.

Thomas was a member of St. Luke’s Church in Monroe, Indiana

He had been employed at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne before retiring.

You could joyfully find Thomas riding his powered wheelchair around Decatur walking his dogs. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage.

Survivors include a sister, Nancy K. Grote of Fort Wayne and longtime friend and neighbor, Jim Brobst of Decatur.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 28, 2019 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur with Pastor Mike Wertenberger officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the family with checks payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home.
