Terry Post

Terry J. Post, 73, of Wren, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Vancrest of Van Wert.

He was born on May 4, 1949, in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Urban Post and the late Juliana (Schwieterman) Post. Terry was united in marriage to Patricia Krueckeberg on May 23, 1981, and she survives.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.

Terry attended church at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church-Schumm.

Terry and Pat were owner/operators of Wren Restaurant for 38 years and Ziggy’s in Convoy, Ohio.

Terry enjoyed watching sports and Casino trips.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Post of Wren, Ohio; daughter, Michelle (Hider Stephenson) Hill of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Troy (Bridget Braun) Merkle of Decatur, Indiana; two brothers, George (Bernice) Post of Rensselaer, Indiana and Tim (Annie) Post of Rock Springs, Wisconsin; and two grandchildren, Travis & Emily Merkle.

Terry was preceded in death by a son, Steve Merkle; granddaughter, Elizabeth Lichtensteiger; brother, Marvin Post; and a sister, Anita Arseneau.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church-Schumm with Pastor Hayden Folks officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery-Schumm with Military graveside honors to be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard.

Family and friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Preferred memorials can be given to Wren Community Chest or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
