Taylor A. Pickford, 16, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his residence

He was born on November 11, 2005, in Bluffton, Indiana to Annie Pickford and Derek E. Hamilton.

He was employed at Soul Pig in Decatur, and worked for Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church as a custodian and did grounds keeping at the church.

Taylor attended Adams Central Schools starting in kindergarten through his freshman year, and was currently attending Bellmont High School where he was a sophomore. While at Adams Central he ran cross country in middle school, was on the middle school diving team and won the Spelling Bee his 6 th and 8 th grade year. Taylor played youth league baseball in Monroe, and ran all of Adams County 5k challenges. While at Bellmont and AC he was in the marching band where he played percussion. Taylor is a gifted artiest, enjoyed carving, and could conquer a Rubix’s Cube in under 60 seconds. He had a love of animals, biking with his family, riding the bike trails, and being outdoors.

He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.

Survivors include his parents, James & Joletta “Jody” Jones of Decatur, Indiana; biological mother, Annie Pickford of Indianapolis, Indiana; biological father, Derek E. (Angie) Hamilton of Decatur, Indiana; two sisters, Haylee (Caleb) Holman of Kokomo, Indiana and Sara Jones of Decatur, Indiana; twin brothers, Kermit & Sam Buckingham of Decatur, Indiana; three half-sisters, Paige, Lexie, and Ali Hamilton; maternal grandmother, Shirley Pickford of Decatur, Indiana; maternal grandfather, Ralph White of Willshire, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Ann Jones of Decatur, Indiana; paternal grandfather, Rex Hamilton of Decatur, Indiana; three aunts, Tonja (Doug) Anweiler of Decatur, Indiana, Lequetta (Bill) Hamrick of Decatur, Indiana, and Kim (Ron) Dietrich of Willshire, Ohio; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dog, Moony.

Taylor was preceded in death by grandfathers, Donald Pickford and Harvey Jones; and paternal great-grandmother, Mary Melching.

A funeral service for friends and family will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Zion United Church of Christ located at 301 N. 3rd St, Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Karen Garner and Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Friends and family will also be received from 2- 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.

Preferred memorials can be given to the family checks payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home.
