Tamara Suzanne Gase

Tamara Suzanne Gase, 61, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at her daughter’s residence following an apparent medical event.

She was born on September 13, 1962, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Eugene and Marilyn (Robinson) Vetter. Tamara was united in marriage to Stewart Gase and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2020.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.

Tamara loved her grandchildren, and helped with them as much as possible. She loved watching Little House on the Prairie. She was a fabulous event planner, using her skills of cooking, baking, decorating and planning to especially create meaningful family memories. Tamara was a Michael Jackson fan, and enjoyed listening to his music.

She is survived by son, Landon Schlemmer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Tara (RJ Pitman) Schlemmer of Decatur, Indiana; twin daughter, Ashton (Jeremy Ball) Schlemmer of Decatur, Indiana; twin daughter, Audra (Wesley) Miller of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Shelby Vetter of Bluffton, Indiana; son, Triston Vetter of Convoy, Ohio; sister, Cynthia (Daniel) Gerber of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Randall (Dianna) Vetter of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Marilyn (Curtis) Main of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Gary (Lori) Vetter of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Lydia Vetter of Woodburn, Indiana; six grandchildren, Taryn Schlemmer, twin grandsons, Christopher and Nehemiah Richmond; Josiah Richmond; Evolet Ball; Tydus Stanley; and two more grandsons on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Vetter.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor Zachary Oedewaldt officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to the family (checks payable to the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home).
