Susan J. "Sue" Seddelmeyer

Susan J. “Sue” Seddelmeyer, 70, of Decatur, Indiana passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, November 11, 2024, at her residence. 

She was born on August 9, 1954, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Marcus Schueler and Ilo Jean (Grote) Schueler. 

Sue was united in marriage to Carl L. Seddelmeyer on September 6, 1980. 

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Ladies Aid. 

Sue was a beloved nurse at Ossian Healthcare for many years. 

Sue’s grandchildren were her life, and she was lovingly referred to as “Mimi”. In her spare time, she loved sewing and embroidering and camping with her family and friends. 

She is survived by her husband, Carl Seddelmeyer of Decatur, Indiana; son, Andrew (Tessa Hart) Seddelmeyer of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Kathryn (Corey) Bender of Decatur, Indiana; son, Ryan (Jessie) Seddelmeyer of Clarksville, Ohio; brother, David Schueler of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Ellen (James) Bruns of Celina, Ohio; sister, Barbara (Husband, Mitch Braswell) Gaffer of Peachtree City, Georgia; brother, Norman Schueler of Decatur, Indiana; brother, James (Karen) Schueler of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Corene (Nolan) Scheumann of Decatur, Indiana; brother, John (Claudia) Schueler of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Karen (Thomas) Dennison of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Louis Welch, Brantley Seddelmeyer, Ryker Seddelmeyer, Riley Seddelmeyer, Emary Bender, Charlie Seddelmeyer, and Carter Seddelmeyer 

Sue was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Schueler, and sister, Arleen Byrd.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Pastor Andrew Yeager officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble. 

Family and friends will be received from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. 

Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble.
