Shirley A. Noll

Shirley A. Noll, 88, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, surrounded by her family at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.

She was born on October 1, 1935, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Winfred Gerke and Miriam (Myers) Gerke.

Shirley was united in marriage to Franklin “Tom” Noll at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur on June 2, 1956.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur and American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary.

Shirley was employed at GE in Decatur and retired in 1989. Shirley also worked for the Superintendent of Adams County Schools, was a homemaker, and also worked for Heartland Home Healthcare.

Shirley enjoyed decorating her house, crocheting, sewing, and cooking. She loved making her famous fried chicken that her family often enjoyed.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Franklin “Tom” Noll of Decatur, Indiana; son, Gregg (Carmen) Noll of Cumming, Georgia; son, Brent Noll of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Shari Emenhiser of Fort Wayne, Indiana; special forever family, Kathy Johnston and Matt Emenhiser; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Sage) Noll, Mike Meyer, Melissa (Toby) Miller, Jamie (Dan) Stensrud, Sarah (Brad) Rathbun, Kyle Durbin, and Brady Emenhiser, 15 great-grandchildren, Willow, Forest and Asher Noll, MJ and Kale Meyer, Hayden, Avery and Lanie Stensrud, Orvie and Mina Miller, Alex , Kale and Graham Rathbun, Kira and Ezri Durbin,

Shirley was preceded in death by one grandson, Nicholas “Nick” Noll on December 31, 2013; sister, Phyllis Zimmerman; and brother, Gail Gerke; and good friend, Betty Crone.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor Zachary Oedewaldt officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at   Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur.
