Sharon M. Brown

Sharon M. Brown, 61, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Friday morning, December 27, 2019, at her residence.

She was born on April 23, 1958, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Martha Springer. She was united in marriage to Richard Brown on March 23, 1981, in Decatur, Indiana and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2011.

Sharon was a member of the Decatur Light House Assembly of God in Decatur and also a former member of the Eagles Aerie #2653.

She worked at CTS in Berne, Walmart in Decatur, Decatur Daily Democrat, and was also a homemaker and caregiver for many people.

Sharon loved being a mother and grandmother. Spending time with her family was her world. She loved roses, bowling, teddy bears, Walt Disney, and life in general. Her church family was also a source of enjoyment for her.

She is survived by three sons, Scott (Kristi) Brown of Portland, Indiana, James Brown of Decatur, Indiana, and Brian (Maria) Brown of Harvest, Alabama; step-son, Richard Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana; step-son, Jay Brown of Huntington, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kensley Brown, Zach Brown, and Rachel Brown; four brothers, John Springer of Muncie, Indiana; Terry Boothby of Decatur, Indiana; Pete Boothby of Decatur, Indiana; and Joe Boothby of Decatur, Indiana; and four sisters, Kay Boothby of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Theresa Novian of Texas; Emma Ohler of Decatur, Indiana; and Diane Boothby of Decatur, Indiana.

Sharon is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Boothby in infancy.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020, at the Zwick & Jahn Home in Decatur with Pastor Eugene Martin officiating. Burial will follow Mt. Tabor Cemetery of rural Decatur.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 & 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Preferred memorials can be given the family (Payable to Scott Brown).
