Ruth I. Sheets

Ruth I. Sheets, 92, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formally of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana

She was born on March 17, 1932, in Magley, Indiana to Walter and Susanna (Conrad) Reppert. Ruth was united in marriage to Charles A. Sheets on April 7, 1951, in Preble, Indiana and preceded her in death on July 9, 2005.

She graduated from Monmouth High School class of 1950. Ruth was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur.

Ruth was employed at General Electric in Decatur for 17 years, and also worked at Miller-Jones Shoe Store and Brooks Clothing for several years.

Ruth enjoyed baking, sewing, and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Roger) Osterman of Monroe, Indiana and Yvonne (Linden) Eley of Sun City West, Arizona; son-in-law, Steve Miller of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Helen Tague of Decatur, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Wade (Melissa) Miller, Nicole Eckert, Dr. Travis (Laura) Osterman, Emily Walker, Evan (Marissa) Pinkerton, Sara (John) Carpenter, Chris (Mollie) Eley, Megan (Jertez) Hunter, and Jonathan (Hillary) Call; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband Charles she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Miller; granddaughter, Ashley Call; one sister, June Witte; and one brother, Robert L. Reppert.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Homes in Decatur
with Pastor Allen Kahler officiating. Burial will follow at the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery in rural Preble, Indiana.

Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until the 2:00 p.m. service on Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.

Preferred memorials can be given to Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
