Ruby Jean Gilliom

October 1, 1927 — June 26, 2021

Ruby “Jean” Gilliom, 93, of Berne, Indiana, passed away on June 26, 2021 at Woodcrest Nursing Home, Decatur, IN.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1927 in Wells County, the daughter of the late Claude Terhune and the late Grace (Brittenham) Terhune. Jean was united in marriage in December 11, 1948 to Roy Nelson Gilliom at the Cross Reformed Church, Berne. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1999.

Jean graduated from Bluffton High School. She was employed at CTS for 30 plus years as a supervisor.

She was a member of Cross Community Church, Berne.

Jean loved gardening. She especially enjoyed her flowers, caring for animals, watching college basketball and the pleasure of traveling.

Survivors include her two sons; Ted Gilliom (Betsy) of Albion, IN, Thomas Gilliom, DVM, of The Dalles, OR; one sister; Joan Barnes of Sante Fe, TN; two grandchildren, Leah Rojas, Natalie Gilliom; one great grandson, Eric Thomas Rojas.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Merle “Bud” Terhune.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30 th at Cross Community Church, Berne with Pastor Chris Kruchkow officiating.

Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 on Wednesday at Cross Community Church, Berne.

Preferred Memorials can be given to Berne Fire Department or Cross Community Church.
