Roger Kenneth Gallmeyer

Roger Kenneth Gallmeyer, 70, of LaGrange, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.

He was born on January 16, 1953 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Delbert Gallmeyer and the late Selma (Neff) Gallmeyer.

Roger was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock in Monroeville. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #2387 and Sons of the American Legion Post #837, both in Orland.

He was employed as a production worker for Vestil in Angola. Before his retirement from Vestil, he was also employed at International Harvester, BF Goodrich and Tokheim Manufacturing.

Roger’s main hobby in life was fishing and tying his own flies.  He loved snowmobiling and skiing, and was a member of the Hoagland Blizzard Blazers.  He was a friend to everyone he met – he did not know a stranger.

Survivors include his four brothers, Stanley (Patti) Gallmeyer of Woodburn, Indiana; Byron Gallmeyer of Hoagland, Indiana; Jeff (Brenda) Gallmeyer of Roanoke, Indiana; and Kurt (Tammy) Gallmeyer of Springfield, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Susan Gallmeyer.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, with Pastor Dave Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Concordia Memorial Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Preferred memorials can be given to Heartbeat of Hoagland.

Arrangements are by the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana
