Robert L. Stannard

Robert L. Stannard, 73, of Allen County, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, June 2, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on December 17, 1950, in Gary, Indiana to the late Robert A. Stannard and Jean (Humrickhouse) Stannard. He was united in marriage to Carol Jane Scherer on April 15, 1994, at St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock.

Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Korea from 1971 to 1974.

Bob was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock

He was a medical technologist for the Indiana State Board of Health.

Bob enjoyed watching birds and gardening. Bob also enjoyed reading.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Stannard of Hoagland, Indiana; brother, Kenneth (Julie) Stannard of Tye, Texas; and sister, Teresa (Tom) Penney of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Bob was preceded in death by brother, Larry Stannard; sister, Marcia Stannard; and mother and father-in-law, Ray and Clara Scherer.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Flatrock with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock.
