Robert "Bob" A. Keller

Robert A. “Bob” Keller, 85, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on March 20, 1938, in Adams County, Indiana to the late Hubert W. Keller and the late Mildred L. (Strickler) Keller.

On June 25, 1961, Bob married Judy R. Fisher at the Decatur Church of God.

Bob was a lifelong member of the Decatur Church of God where he served as a past church treasurer and had assisted Judy in teaching Sunday school.

He was a graduate of Decatur High School in 1956.  He retired from United Telephone System with 45 years of service.  He started with UTS right after graduating high school and when he retired was the District Engineer.  Bob was also a lifelong farmer, beginning as a boy on his Grandparent’s farm.  Farming was his passion. Bob was exceptionally gifted with mechanical ability, always maintaining and repairing his own vehicles and equipment.  It seemed Bob could fix or fabricate anything.

Bob’s family was his hobby.  He loved spending time with his family, making homemade ice cream at family gatherings. He and Judy enjoyed vacationing in the Smokey Mountains.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Keller of Decatur, Indiana; three sons, Ron (Jennifer) Keller, Mike (Angie) Keller and, Stu (Sarah) Keller all of Decatur, Indiana; two sisters, Donna (Jerry) Gerber of Decatur, Indiana and Lois (Tom) Brunstrup of Monroe, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Deidre (Mark) Miller, Chadd (Becky) Keller, Alyssa Keller, Kara Keller, Grant Keller, Jack Keller, Seth Keller, and Sawyer Keller; and five great-grandchildren, Tinley, Jase, Raegen, Hattie, and Jacob Miller.

Bob was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Kayden Miller.

A funeral service for Bob will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Decatur Church of God with Pastor Brent Doster officiating. Burial will follow in Ray Cemetery in Monroe, Indiana.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. There will be no visitation prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Decatur Church of God General Fund or a fund for Bob’s grandchildren (checks payable to Judy Keller).
