Ricky L. Copper, 69, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on May 20, 1955 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Carl R. Copper and Patricia L. (Bruick) Copper. 

Rick was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He was a former member of Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland, Indiana.

He was self-employed as the owner / operator of Copper Sewer Service in Monroeville, serving the needs of the community for over 20 years. In addition to his Sewer Business, Ricky continued in the operation of the family farm in Monroeville.

Rick felt a great satisfaction in raising his children. He was very active in their lives, especially their time in 4-H. He supported them in 4-H by providing guidance in their horse and llama training. The girls fondly remember his presence in the ring with a megaphone calling out our directions. He was socially active in the Monroeville Committee, gaining friendships at many local establishments and living life to the fullest.

Survivors include his daughter, Abbey (Brian) Spice of Huntington, Indiana; daughter, Andrea Copper of New Haven, Indiana; mother, Patricia Copper of Monroeville, Indiana; sister, Monica (Don) Scott of Monroeville, Indiana; brother, Randy (Denise) Copper of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; sister, Carla (James) Thompson of Abilene, Texas; brother, Martin (Renee Roussey) Copper of Monroeville, Indiana; mother of children, Cathy Copper of New Haven, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Kolton Helmke and Kasondra Copper-Helmke.

Rick was preceded in death by his father.

Family and friends will be invited to gather for a gathering of memories and reflections from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home – Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. Following the visitation period on Sunday, the family will have a private burial at Monroeville Cemetery at a later date.

Preferred memorials can be given to Allen County 4-H Horse & Pony Club.
