Richard D. "Rich" Steiner, 86, Linn Grove passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon May 1, 2018 along the Wabash River. He was born to Ezra and Metta Gilliom Steiner on November 12, 1931 in Adams County. He married Joyce E. Sudduth on June 30, 1956.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Berne. Rich was retired from Meshberger Stone and Lica Inc in Linn Grove for 481/2 years and was a veteran serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. His interests included: mushroom hunting, doing yardwork, riding his Helix motorcycle, drinking coffee with his friends, rooting for the I U Hoosiers and the Indy Pacers and caring for his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include; his wife, Joyce, daughters; Rebecca (Jeffrey)Manlove of Decatur, Jacquelyn(Greg)Lengerich of Huntington, grandchildren, Collin and Brooke Lengerich.
Preceding in death are his parents and two brothers; Roger and Claren Steiner.
Funeral services are Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:30am at the First Mennonite Church, Berne with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Visitation also Friday from 3 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Pastor Jeff Linthicum. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery with Berne Post #468 performing military rites.
Preferred memorials are to the First Mennonite Church.
