Richard L. Ridenour “Yogg”, 68, of Portland, Indiana passed away on March 1, 2019 at his residence.
He was born on August 7, 1950 in Willshire, Ohio the son of the late Paul R. Ridenour and the late Edna M. (Meyers) Ridenour. Richard was united in marriage to Jayne Suman on December 5, 1970 in the United Brethren in Christ Church in Willshire, Ohio.
He was a member of the Little Salamonia Christian Church in Portland, Indiana. Yogg was also a member of the Sheriff’s Reserve in Jay and Adams County.
Yogg had been employed by United Telephone Company and Embarq as a Service Tech. He retired after 37 years of service.
Yogg loved to garden and grow vegetables. He loved to mow, and play his Harmonica.
Survivors include his wife, Jayne Ridenour of Portland, IN; three sons, Chad (Brandy Daniels) Ridenour of Albany, IN; Brad Ridenour of Peru, IN; and Adam (Kelli) Ridenour of Portland, IN; two sisters, Sheryl (Max) Knittle of Willshire, OH and Aleta Ridenour of Wapakoneta, OH; ten grandchildren, Jordan, Ashten, Abbi, Grayson, Macey (Nick) Alexa, Liam, Jose, Kadin, and Haley; one great-grandchild, Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Ridenour.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home located at 520 N. 2nd. St. Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Adam Ridenour officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio
Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday March 5, 2019 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials can be made to Little Salamonia Christian Church.
