Richard A. Marbaugh, 86, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1935 in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of the late Joe “Wilber” Marbaugh and the late Wanda (Brough) Marbaugh. Richard was united in marriage to Janet Ruth Agler on September 25, 1960, at Decatur Church of God and she preceded him in death on October 12, 2001. They were married for 41 years before her passing.
Richard was a high school graduate from Willshire High School class of 1955. He worked at General Electric as an inspector for electric motor manufacturing for 34 years retiring in 1988. He also worked two years just during the corn and bean rush at Central Soya (now Bunge) in Decatur, Indiana.
He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1957.
Richard was a member of the Decatur Church of God.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time at Silver Lake in Michigan.
Survivors include daughter, Allison (John) Hawkins, Merrillville, IN; brother, Bud (Diane) Marbaugh, Albion, Indiana along with many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by two sisters, Barb Seitz on October 16, 1998 and Connie Love on August 28, 2018; and his mother-in-law, Norma Agler on April 14, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2022, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home – Decatur with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, Ohio.
Friends and family will be received from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the services Monday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Preferred memorials can be decided by the Donor’s Choice.
