Richard L Marbaugh

Richard L. “Dick” Marbaugh, 88, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.

He was born on August 23, 1936 in Celina, OH to the late Clifford and Midge (Lehman) Marbaugh.

Dick was united in marriage to Carolyn S. Sheets on February 11, 1969, in Decatur, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2021.

He graduated from Willshire High School in 1955.  Dick was a former member of the Moose Lodge #1311 in Decatur.

He was employed at Rathon/Magnavox in Maintenance, for 40 plus years until his retirement in 2006.

Dick loved his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed talking about his high school basketball team, bragging about his state runner-up championship in 1955. He and Carolyn loved to go to square dancing together.

Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly (Billy) McCance of Anderson, Indiana; step-daughter, Tammy (Victor) Perez of Decatur, Indiana; step-daughter, Deborah (Kevin) Seitz of Decatur, Indiana; son, Douglas Marbaugh of Decatur, Indiana; son, James (Jennifer) Marbaugh of Decatur, Indiana; step-son, Timothy (Peggy) Fry of Decatur, Indiana; sister,     Mary Bennett of Preble, Indiana; and sister, Donna Peterson of Planville, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and two great-great grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Tom, Larry & Allen Marbaugh.

In following with Dick’s wishes, there will be no services.

Burial will follow at a later date at Decatur Cemetery.

Preferred memorials can be given to Gigi’s Playhouse.
