Richard C. Girod, Jr.

Richard C. Girod, Jr., 68, of Decatur, Indiana of passed away Friday morning, January 20, 2023, at Adams Memorial Hospital.

He was born on February 17, 1953, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Richard C. Girod, Sr. and the late Mary (French) Girod.

Dick was a member of the Eagles Aerie #2653 and the Old Fort Mustang Club.

He was the owner and operator of Girod’s Tin Shop in Decatur.

Dick enjoyed drag racing for many years and spending time at car shows. Additionally, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his son, Jermey (Shannon) Girod of Greenville, Georgia; son, Anthony (Stacy) Girod of Woodburn, Indiana; sister, Ruth Ann Moser; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Walchle and Diana Agler.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Life Celebrant Dave McIntire officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
