Phyllis J. Bryant

Phyllis J. Bryant, 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and former longtime resident of Adams County passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at Coventry Meadows Assisted Living in Fort Wayne.

She was born on July 12, 1934, in Allen County, Indiana to the late Harold E. and Opal L.(Wright) Schnepp. Phyllis was united in marriage to Lee E. Bryant on October 8, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2020.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen. Phyllis graduated from Ossian High School.

She was employed by Colonial Oil Company in Fort Wayne.  In addition, Phyllis was the church secretary at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne for over 10 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Bryant of Fort Wayne, Indiana; granddaughter, Erin (fiance, Jorge Rico) Bryant of Phoenix, Arizona; grandson, David (fiance, Emily Price) Bryant of Decatur, Indiana; and great-grandson, Remington Duane Bryant.

Phyllis was preceded in death by a son, Duane Bryant in 2002.

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Peter Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian, Indiana.

Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, Phyllis requested that memorials be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen Tanzania Mission or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
