Phillip B. Shoaf, 81, of Willshire, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 1, 1942 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Raymond F. and Dorothy (Elston) Shoaf.
Phil was united in marriage to Carolyn Jones on July 12, 1964 at Union United Methodist Church, and she survives.
He served his country in the United States Army from October of 1966 to September of 1968 during the Vietnam War, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.
Phil was employed at General Electric in Decatur, Indiana for over 28 years. He then retired from Bing Lear in Berne, Indiana after 10 years.
Phil was involved with the lives of his family over the years. He was fond of watching any of their endeavors, whether watching them play baseball or tinker and designing the construction of Lego projects. One of his favorite past times was doing anything that involved spending time outdoors…whether gardening, building and installing birdhouses, or clearing snow during the winter.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Shoaf of Willshire, Ohio; daughter, Nicole Shoaf of Willshire, Ohio; son, Todd (Jessica) Shoaf of Montezuma, Ohio; brother, Allen (Jean) Shoaf of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Paul (Michelle) Shoaf of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Pam (Chuck) Bollenbacher of Rockford, Ohio; sister, Darlene Alexander of Rockford, Ohio; and two grandsons, Sabyn Phillip Shoaf and Nash (Riz) Weimert.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Shoaf and William “Bill” Shoaf; and five sisters, Carol Murray, Barbara Tumbleson, D. LaRae Dixon, Janet Leininger, and Karen Joseph.
In honoring Phil’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Preferred memorial can be given to Wren Ohio EMS or Rockford-Carnegie Public Library in Rockford, Ohio.
