Patricia L. "Pat" Hoblet

June 25, 1933 — March 12, 2024

Patricia L. ”Pat” Hoblet, 90, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Adams Woodcrest. She was born on June 25, 1933, in Van Wert, Ohio to the late to Noel G. and Wilma P. (Thompson) Black.

On May 23, 1954 she was united in marriage to Gerald L. Hoblet, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2008.

Pat was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Decatur, where she was a faithful volunteer for many years, serving in various capacities. She graduated from Willshire High School in 1951. She was employed at the First State Bank as a bookkeeper for 33 years where her co-workers and their families became her lifelong friends. After retirement she found enjoyment working at Macys and for the Adam’s County Council on Aging.

She was an avid golfer and after many, many attempts, in 2013 she made a hole-in-one while in Florida.  Her greatest joy was feeding her family a delicious meal or baking them a favorite pie. Pat leaves behind many friends as she never failed to turn an acquaintance into a friend.

Pat is lovingly survived by two daughters, Gwen Hoblet of Decatur, Indiana and Dawn Hoblet (Randal Gallmeyer) of Mansfield, Connecticut. She adored her four grandchildren, Meghann (Rik) Farlow of Geneva, Indiana, Joel (Marissa) Geyer of Republic, Missouri, Emma Gallmeyer and Sam Gallmeyer, both of Mansfield, Connecticut. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Taylor (Kory) Crump, Jade (Chase) Roop, Xavier and Izabella Farlow, Austin Mae and Boone Louis Geyer; one great-great-grandchild, Lukas Crump; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her sisters-in-law, Ellen Black and Janice Black, also survive.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Black, Donald W. Black, and Merle D. Black; sister, Eileen Fleming; one brother-in-law, Donald Hoblet; and two sisters-in-law, Harriet Hoblet and Gloria Black.

Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. service time Friday, March 15, 2024, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Zachary Oedewaldt officiating. Burial will follow in the Willshire Cemetery, in Willshire, Ohio.
