Norris G. Blocker, 90, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 31, 1930 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Alvin O. Blocker and late Viola M. (Herrmann) Blocker.
Norris married Beverly Ann Lewis on June 20, 1952 at the 1st United Methodist Church in Decatur and she preceded him in death on May 28, 1983. On March 23, 1987, Norris was united in marriage to Clarabelle “Cotty” (Daniels) Reynolds and she preceded him in death on November 25, 1995.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II where he was honorably discharged.
Norris attended Common Ground Church of the Nazarene in Decatur.
He was a 1948 graduate of Decatur High School and retired in 1989 with 38 years of service at Central Soya. Following his retirement, he worked part-time at Courtesy Motors.
Norris was faithful in reading his bible daily. He would use what he learned to brighten the lives of those around him. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren and also, golfing, woodworking, fishing and shooting.
He is survived by a daughter, Teri Thatcher of Decatur, Indiana; son, Steve Blocker of Monroe, Indiana; daughter, Toni (Dennis) Hakes of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Joyce (Tim) Tomlinson of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Rhonda (Dan) Krouse of Convoy, Ohio; step-son, Ron (Becky) Reynolds of Grand Rapids, Michigan; step-son, Rex (Rena) Reynolds of Bluffton, Indiana; step-daughter-in-law, Kathy Reynolds of Bluffton, Indiana; 27 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mike Newcomer; step-son, Randy Reynolds; a brother, Billy Bob Blocker at 13 years of age and two sisters, Bernice Buckmaster and Betty Jo Chew.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Kevin Stirratt officiating. Military honors will follow after the service and will be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard. Burial will take place at a later date at the Decatur Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 12 Noon-4 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Preferred memorials are to Common Ground Church of the Nazarene.
