Norma J. “Jean” Wilson, 85, of Celina, Ohio, formerly of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. May’s Ohio.

She was born on September 3, 1938 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Robert L. Bailey and the late Donna B. (Landrum) Bailey.

Jean was united in marriage to Larry Wilson on September 13, 1958 at Union Church in Huntington County, Indiana and he survives.

Jean was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Celina and was currently attending The 712 Church in Celina.  She was a 1956 graduate of Pleasant Mills High School.  Following her graduation, she continued her education at Purdue University for one year before transferring to St. Francis College, where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.  She eventually also received her Master’s Degree in Education from St. Francis in 1965.  She taught at Fort Wayne Community Schools and Adams Central Community Schools for time spanning 25 years.  Following her retirement from teaching, she joined her husband Larry in the operation of Interior Designs in Decatur for 42 years where she was the chief designer and decorator.

Jean loved spending time attending her granddaughter’s softball games.  Recently, she added great-grandchildren’s softball, baseball, soccer, and volleyball games to her itinerary.  Playing cards (Hand and Foot) with her friends brought hours of enjoyment.  She was a fan of the Purdue music concerts which she and Larry would regularly attend.
Jean loved her time on Grand Lake.  She spent hours watching the birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat.  She was the consummate hospitality host.  Her home was frequented by her high school class, Larry’s high school class, and many Sunday School Classes over the years for gatherings.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Wilson of Celina, Ohio; daughter, Melissa Rorick of Decatur, Indiana; son, Mark Wilson of Berne, Indiana; granddaughter, Katie (Brandon) Scherer;
