Norma L. (Kelley) Bishop, 87, of Berne, Indiana passed away Saturday morning, May 28, 2022 at her residence.
She was born on April 19, 1935 in Portland, Indiana to the late James H. Kelley Jr. and Virginia (Fifer) Kelley. Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, George W. Sonner Jr. and her second husband, Leland Bishop.
She was a member of the First Missionary Church in Berne and the Order of the Eastern Star in Decatur.
Norma was a 1953 graduate of Portland High School and was a homemaker. She had also worked for Equity in Portland, the White Cottage and CTS in Berne, Monmouth High School in Decatur, and Anspaugh Photography in Decatur.
Norma enjoyed playing canasta with friends, spending time with family and spending time outside taking her dog, Molley, for walks and fishing. She loved to bake, cook and read; especially Beverly Lewis books.
Norma is survived by her son, Greg (Terri) Sonner of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Greta (Tim) Schall of Hoagland, Indiana; daughter, Kim Sonner of Berne, Indiana; step-son, Cary (Lorie) Bishop of Auburn, Indiana; step-daughter, Darla (Scott) Doss of Berne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Berning, Natalie Sonner, Nicholas (Alyssa) Schall, and Matthew (Heather) Schall; nine great-grandchildren, Kambree, Carson, & Blake Berning, Octavia Sonner, Dominic, Leo, Anthony, Shayla & Mariah Schall; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at First Missionary Church in Berne with Pastor Dathan Foust officiating. Burial will take place at M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne, Indiana.
Friends and family will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Preferred memorials are to Stillwater Hospice or First Missionary Church.
Arrangements are by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
