Michael Steven Notter

Michael Steven Notter, 75, of Angola, Indiana passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at his daughter’s residence in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on May 13, 1947, in Huntington, Indiana to the late Louis C. Notter and Eleanor L. (Stephan) Notter.

On June 12, 1965, Michael married Sondra K. Elonzae at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Michael was a member of Sonlight Church in Angola, Indiana.  He was also a member of Sol D. Bayless #359 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Fort Wayne Mizpah Shriners and ROJ.

He was a 1965 graduate of Elmhurst High School.  He was a self-employed brick and stone mason retiring in 2020 and had previously been employed at Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Michael enjoyed golfing, playing cards, being at the lake and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sondra K. Notter of Angola, Indiana; daughter, Lisa (Tad) Levy of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Laurie (Brad) Binz of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandson, Zachary Howell of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandson, Joshua Binz of Fort Wayne, Indiana; granddaughter, Breanna Levy of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandson, Tyler Binz of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Chuck Notter of Columbia City, Indiana; brother-in-law, Stevie Elonzae of Roanoke, Indiana; brother-in-law , George (Becki) Elonzae of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and six great grandchildren.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher Levy; sister-in-law, Linda Elonzae; and brother-in-law, Gary Elonzae.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, at Crossbridge Community Church (3409 Hursh Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46845) with Pastor Brad Mattax officiating. Burial will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Indiana at a later date.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Crossbridge Community Church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Preferred memorials are to Mizpah Shrine – Transportation Fund or Crossbridge Community Church.

Arrangements are by the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
