May J. Moore

May J. Moore, 98, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, March 17, 2024, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.

She was born on November 11, 1925, in Van Wert County, Ohio to the late Eular Hill and the late Cleo (Krick) Hill. May was united in marriage to Paul D. Moore on October 12, 1991, in Decatur, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2002.

May graduated from Pleasant Mills High School class of 1943 and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Indiana.

She was employed by K-Mart for 8 1/2 years before her retirement in 1993.

May is survived by her grandson, Jay (Melissa) Cook of Decatur, Indiana; granddaughter, Stacia Herdman of Decatur, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Shelby, Shayla, Steven, Nevan, and Faith; and one great-great-granddaughter, Elianna.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kermit Myers; a daughter, Karen Cook-Ellenberger; two sisters, Crilla “Susie” Hill and Melba Maxwell; and two brothers, Eugene Hill and Ronald Hill.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Decatur Cemetery at a later date.
