Maxine L. Brewster

Maxine L. Brewster, 85, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Saturday morning, March 30, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on April 9, 1938, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Virgil H. and Lola L. (Bollenbacher) Cook.

Maxine was united in marriage to Keith L. Brewster on October 1, 1988 in Decatur, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1999.

Maxine attended Cornerstone Community Church frequently.

She was employed by Decatur Casting for 20 years.

Maxine enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and crocheting. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed her time with her faithful companions, Missy, Hadley and Macy.

She is survived by her son, Todd Elzey of Pleasant Mills, Indiana; daughter, Rhonda Dailey of Berne, Indiana; daughter, Tammy (Brett) Colbart of New Haven, Indiana; step-son, Brian Brewster of Bluffton, Indiana; step-daughter, Cathy (Rod) Bollenbacher of Geneva, Indiana; sister, Bonnie (Tom) Hower of Decatur, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Troy Walker, Jamie Stout, Zachary (Deondra) Birch, Courtney (Adam) Siebenaler, Michael Elzey, Damon (Emily Swab) Colbart, and Kayla (Bailee) Quinn; five great-grandchildren, Kobey Eaton, Kaiden Stout, Draven Birch, Braxton Bruce, and Kolsen Quinn; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Steve, Randy and Gary Elzey; step-son, Rick Brewster, grandson, TJ Elzey; sister, Helen Dulle; and brother, Ray Cook.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Ernie Suman officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to ACCF-Cancer Fund or Stillwater Hospice.
