Matthew James Robinette

August 15, 1996 — August 6, 2024

Matthew James Robinette, 27, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 6, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on August 15, 1996, in Anderson, Indiana to Kimberly (Davis) Robinette-Wright and Scott Robinette.

“Little man” Matthew was such an innocent soul who loved life to its fullest degree. He found joy in the smallest things (a little balloon, toys that light up/make noise, 4-wheeler rides, honking horns, parades, motorcycles, fire trucks, police cars, swimming, and buzz lightyear to just name a few). Matthew was someone who loved unconditionally but when he was upset man he would happily let you know (usually by tossing a toy around). He taught us so much and we will forever be grateful on the time we had with him.

He will be dearly missed and has left a large hole in our lives, especially his mother, who has worked tirelessly to ensure he had the best life he possibly could, even with his various disabilities.

While Matthew could not walk or talk, he had his own way to communicate with us. He was quick as a whip when he wanted something (especially when there was food on the table and we were taking too long to feed him).

“Little man” Matthew’s spirit will live on in the hearts that knew him. He touched so many in a positive way by his sweet smile. Till we meet again we love you to infinity and beyond.

The family would like to sincerely thank the caring nurses from Elara Caring and Help at Home.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Kim (Mike) Wright of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Christopher (Cody) Robinette of Fishers, Indiana; brother, Todd (Chloe) Robinette of Frankton, Indiana; sister, Sophia Cole of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Colton Cole of Decatur, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Linda Davis of Decatur, Indiana; father, Scott (Jennifer) Robinette of Anderson, Indiana; step-sister, Mia Johnson of Anderson, Indiana; step-brother, Brayden Johnson of Anderson, Indiana; paternal grandmother, Shirley Hayden of Anderson, Indiana; aunt, Stacey (Brady) Baker of Pendleton, Indiana; and uncle, Eric (Melissa) Robinette.

He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, James Davis, and paternal grandfathers, Tom Hayden and Larry Robinette.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Robert Loose Funeral Home, 200 W 53rd St. Anderson, Indiana. Burial will follow at the Knights of Pythias IOOF Cemetery in Frankton, Indiana.
