Mary Lou Moser

Mary Lou Moser, 86, of Berne, Indiana passed away Wednesday evening, October 25, 2023, at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 20, 1937, in Bryant, Indiana to the late Dalphon Poling and the late Margie (Warner) Poling. Mary Lou was united in marriage to James L. Moser on July 27, 1956, in Bryant, Indiana.

Mary Lou was a member of West Missionary Church in Berne, Indiana and a former member of Waynedale Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She sang in the choir and filled in as the piano player.

She was a homemaker while raising her children. She was a keypunch operator and worked previously for Peter Eckrich.

Mary Lou enjoyed playing the piano and collecting dolls. Most of all, she enjoyed being a mother and grandma.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Moser of Berne, Indiana; daughter, Susan (Donny) Moseley of Magee, Mississippi; daughter, Jane (Steve) Doner of Valparaiso, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Dawn Moser of Bluffton, Indiana; sister, Janice (Dan) Rines of Greenville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Dr. Melissa Cole, Gregory Moseley, Olivia Block, Richard Doner, and William Moser; and five great-grandchildren, Bryce, Ryder, and Drake Cole, Riley and Bella Grace Moseley.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by a son, Philip Moser; two brothers, Bruce and Philip Poling; and two sisters, Lois Poling and Ruth Brodt.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at West Missionary Church in Berne, Indiana with Pastor Keith Rupp officiating. Burial will follow at M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne, Indiana.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Swiss Village Chapel in Berne, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials can be given to Gideons International.
