Mary Ann R. Jacobson, 85, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Persimmon Ridge Rehab Center in Portland, Indiana.
She was born on May 3, 1936 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey to the late Edward Schimdt and Agnes (Pfifer) Schmidt. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Harold Lambert Jacobson in Union, New Jersey and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2011.
She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Bayville, New Jersey and volunteered as needed at church.
She was a high school graduate and went to college at Mt. Sinai NYC in 1957, where she received her associate degree in Nursing and graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Nursing from Rutgers University in 1961. Mary Ann was a Registered Nurse for Silverton Pediatrics LLC for 23 years, retiring in 2009.
She was a very quiet person. She enjoyed and loved her cats! Over the course of her life, she rescued 20 cats.
Mary Ann is survived by her, daughter, Joyce (Jim) Langham of Decatur, Indiana; granddaughter, Julie (Jason) Allomong of Edgerton, Ohio; granddaughter, Sandi (Harold) Langham-Pabatao of Chicago, Illinois; grandson, Jason (Kacie) Langham of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and three great-grandchildren, Kirsten Langham, Aliyanna Pabatao, and Thaddeus Pabatao.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Juniper Langham; four brothers, Edward, Arnold, E. Richard “Dick” and George Schmidt who died at four years of age.
There will be no services for Mary Ann. She will be interred next to her husband at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey at a later date.
Preferred memorials are to PAWS of Adams County.
Arrangements are by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, in Decatur, Indiana.
