Martha "Marty" E. Reef

Martha “Marty” E. Reef, 92, of Moraine, Ohio, formerly of Decatur, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Born on January 10, 1930 in Adams County, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Noah T. and M. Marie (Teeple) Sheets.

Marty was united in marriage to Lloyd D. Reef in September 26, 1948 in Decatur, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2007. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur. She was involved with Girl Scouts for 20 years. Along with her husband, Marty was an avid bowler and active in bowling for over 45 years. She was also involved in the Community and Family Services program in Decatur for many years. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1947. Marty was a homemaker and loved her family and took care of people whenever she could.

Marty is survived by her son, Michael A. Reef of Moraine, Ohio; son-in-law, Stephen Montez of Decatur, Indiana; five grandchildren, Vickie (Scott) Alberson of Decatur, Indiana, Erica (Felix) DeLeon of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Michael Reef of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jamie (Brian) Hudgens of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Adam (Rita) Groff of New Bremen, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren with one great-great-grandchild on the way; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara A. Montez; daughter-in-law, Penny Reef; two sisters, Helen Morgan and Alice Hunter; and five brothers, Raymond, Richard, Robert, David & Doyle Sheets.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana, with Kenneth Hogg officiating. Friends and family will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana . Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
