Marsha Lynn Wurm

Marsha Lynn Wurm, 79, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at her residence on September 20, 2019.

She was born on February 8, 1940 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late Herman Adams and the late Mary Ellen (Parr) Ingling. Marsha was united in marriage to Victor Wurm on August 27, 1960 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne, Indiana and he survives.

She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville and a former member of the Fort Wayne Dress Makers Guild.

Marsha, along with her husband, owned and operated Window/Mor Blind and Shade sales and repair. In addition to her small business, Marsha was a Professor of Interior Design at Purdue Fort Wayne (formerly IPFW) for several years. She was a graduate of North Side High School class of 1957. Following her graduation she enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington and later graduated with honors from IPFW with a Bachelor Degree in Interior Design.

Marsha loved her family, grandchildren and her great grandchild very much. She was also involved with the social group “Arise,” at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville where she enjoyed the fellowship of other women in the parish. Marsha and Vic loved to travel and visit relatives and friends all over the USA. Marsha was also very active in planning class reunions at North Side High School.

Survivors include her husband Vic Wurm of Monroeville; two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Oxley of Avon Lake, OH, and Sue Ellen Hansen of New Haven, IN; sister, Marlene (Larry) Smitherman of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Drew (Lori) Oxley, Sean (Addie Cox) Oxley, and Ben (Renee) Oxley; one great-grandchild, Jaxon Oxley; several nieces and nephews; and grand pets, Charley, Shania Joby, Sahara Daisy, Pepsihutch, and Jakoda Gabe.

Marsha was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Wurm (in infancy); son, Jeffery Thomas Wurm (in infancy); step-father, Drew Ingling; and a great aunt, Estella Huser who was instrumental in raising her.

A Prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Father Michael Lobo officiating. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana . A Holy Rosary Service will be recited at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville.

Preferred memorials can be given to St. Rose Catholic School, Masses, or Allen County SPCA.
