Mark F. Scherry

Mark F. Scherry, 65, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday morning, December 5, 2023, at his residence following a four year battle with cancer.

He was born on June 11, 1958 in Bluffton, Indiana to Rolland F. and Nancy (Willmert) Scherry.

Mark graduated from Bellmont High School Class of 1977. He was a member of Salem Magley Church.

He was employed at Fort Wayne Wire Die in Fort Wayne for 42 years before his retirement in 2023.

Mark loved to race cars on area race tracks. He raced on Baer Field Race Track from 1981 to 1986. He also enjoyed playing guitar with his Pool House Band.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Christi Goble of Decatur, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James “J.R.” Scherry, in 2015.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Christopher Hirschy officiating.  Burial will follow at Salem Magley Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service.

Preferred memorials are to Salem Magley Church.
