She was born on September 28, 1937 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Harold Melcher and the late Garnita (Gerke) Melcher.

Marge enjoyed quilting, painting, art, puzzles, sewing, cooking, softball, horses, dancing and bowling. She loved working in her garden, especially her flowers. Her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, spoiling them with her cooking, especially her home made noodles.
