Marilyn L. Scott, 88, of Hoagland, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.
She was born on November 9, 1933 in Adams County, Indiana to the late Christian W. and Louise Elizabeth (Bleeke) Bohnke.
Marilyn was united in marriage to Doyle Charles Scott on June 26, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Decatur, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2020.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest.
Marilyn graduated from Monmouth High School in 1952. She was a devoted mother and wife to her family. Marilyn assisted with the dairy farm and the seed business alongside her husband.
She was a gardener, enjoyed canning and sewing. Above all her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Marilyn is survived by a son, Raymond (Shirley) Scott of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Robert (Kathleen) Scott of Hoagland, Indiana; daughter, Janice (David) Buuck of Decatur, Indiana; son,Terry (Joy) Scott of Hoagland, Indiana; daughter, Angela (Terry) Bultemeier of Decatur, Indiana; three sisters, Darlene (Walter) Leuenberger of Fremont, Indiana, Leona Busse of Decatur, Indiana, Dorothy (Wayne)Kershner of Decatur, Indiana; two sister-in-laws, Deloris Bohnke and Bonnie Reidenbach both of Decatur, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Luke Scott, Lloyd Scott, Jonathan Buuck, Anna (Stuart) Chipman-Bergsma, Victoria (Clay) Buckmaster, Olivia (Austin) Hampel, Carrie Scott, Ellen Scott, Brandon Bultemeier and Justin Bultemeier; one grand-daughter-in-law, Christy Scott; one step-grandchild, Jamie Horne; five great-grandchildren, Russel Buuck, Ivy Mae Buuck, Cooper Buckmaster and Mary Beth Buckmaster, Charlton Chipman-Bergsma; and another great-grandchild in September; one step-great-grandchild, Paige (Kyle) Ehret; two step-great-great-grandchildren, Landon and Tatum Ehret and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Lorene Reinking; three brothers, Franklin (in infancy) Allen and Leroy Bohnke; two brother-in-laws, Paul Busse and Paul Reidenbach; and her grandson, Lyle Scott.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest with Pastor Josef Henning officiating. Burial will follow at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or ProMedica Hospice.
