Malinda Bieberich

Malinda Bieberich, 100, longtime resident of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.

She was born on September 18, 1919, in Adams County, Indiana to the late Walter Bultemeier and the late Clara (Miller) Bultemeier. She married Gerhard A. Bieberich on April 13, 1941, in Adams County and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1973.

Malinda was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble where she had been active in the Sewing Society.

She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of the dairy farm.

Malinda thought of others’ needs as she would create many quilts for family and friends over the years and throughout the country.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Arthur) Simon of Bowie, Maryland; son, Larry (Karlann) Bieberich of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Oswald Bultemeier of LaGrange, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Ileen Bultemeier of Decatur, Indiana and Jan Bultemeier of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two grandchildren, Alan (Amy) Bieberich and Mark (Andrea) Bieberich; four step-grandchildren, Leah (Ras-I) Dowling, Nathan Simon, Peter Simon, and Richard Simon; three great-grandchildren, Sam Bieberich, John Bieberich, and Katelyn Bieberich; and four step great-grandchildren, RJ Dowling, Amaria Dowling, Amelia Simon, and Isaiah Simon.

Malinda was preceded in death by a sister, Alvina Reinking and five brothers, Walter, Gerhard, Edgar, Alfred, and Norvin “Snorty” Bultemeier.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Pastor Andrew Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble.

Family and friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home – Decatur and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Preferred memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church – Preble or Worship Anew.
