Lois M. Loof, 93, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Sunday June 30, 2019 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana.
She was born on September 12, 1925 in Milbank, South Dakota the daughter of the late Effner W. Trapp and the late Estella F. (Helm) Trapp. She married Harold A. Loof on September 26, 1947 and shared 71 years together before he passed away on July 6, 2018.
She was a member of Valley Baptist Church in Milbank, South Dakota.
Lois was a farmer’s wife, who faithfully served her husband on the farm.
After retirement Lois and Harold spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona. They became full time residents in 2010. Lois and Harold enjoyed traveling to Germany, England, Hawaii, and Alaska, as well as taking many cruises with family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean (Rick) Myers of Grand Blanc, MI and Mary (Steven) Sommer of Berne, IN; son, Tom (Marilyn) Loof of Chandler, AZ; sister-in-law, Verlyn Loof; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces in nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma Jean Trapp in infancy and Judy Winkleblack ; and two brothers, Vernon & Duane Trapp.
Funeral services will be held at a later date at Valley Baptist Church in Milbank, South Dakota.
Preferred memorials can be given to Gideon’s or Sunshine Acres in Mesa, Arizona.
