Lois J Brunstrup

Lois J. Brunstrup, 76, of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born on July 13, 1947, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Hubert Keller and the late Mildred (Strickler) Keller.

Lois was united in marriage to Tom Brunstrup on June 5, 1971, at the Decatur Church of God, and he survives.

She attended Willshire Union United Methodist Church and she served as the church organist and pianist. She remained active within the church as the Administrative Board Secretary, sang in the choir, and previously taught Sunday School. Lois was great at encouraging others and would send many cards to individuals.

Lois was previously employed at the Decatur Daily Democrat as a Society Editor. She was a lifelong homemaker and taught piano lessons for 40 years.

She was a talented baker and was most known for her Peach Cream Pie. Lois enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. One of her greatest loves was music and she played the piano for over 63 years. Her greatest love was her family; especially, her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Brunstrup of Monroe, Indiana; son, Mark (Lora) Brunstrup of Monroe, Indiana; son, Keith (Krista) Brunstrup of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Donna (Jerry) Gerber of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Judy Keller of Decatur, Indiana; four grandchildren, Zachary Brunstrup, Hallie Brunstrup, Lillian Brunstrup, and Nicole Brunstrup; and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Keller.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Willshire Union United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Ginter and Rev. Anita Rediger officiating.  Burial will follow in Ray Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Preferred memorials can be given to Willshire Union United Methodist Church or C&C Bible Fellowship.
